Lifestyle
It lives in deep ponds and swamps, ferries Paldean Wooper on its back, and evolves from it. Attacked, it shoots thick purple spines from its spots.
In the anime
Rika's Clodsire debuted during the Paldea Elite Four arc. With her Dugtrio, it defeated Liko and Katy after Terastallizing into pure Ground.
Name origin
The name blends clod, a lump of earth, with sire or Siren and Quagsire. Its poison spines echo the Iberian ribbed newt.
Did you know?
- It is the only Evolution exclusive to a regional form from Generation IX.
- In Pokémon Sleep it rarely sleeps in the mud, perhaps tired after carrying others.
