Its story
Lifestyle
Strong tail muscles make electricity. It joins two extinct species, each suited to its own niche. With three Galarian fossils, it is neither Rock-type nor gendered.
In the anime
In Pokémon Journeys, Bray Zenn is the one who gives it its species name.
Name origin
Hitoshi Ariga drew it from paleontological chimeras and the Crystal Palace Dinosaurs. The top suggests a dromaeosaurid, the bottom a stegosaurian. Dracozolt joins draco with volt or jolt.
Did you know?
- It was said to have grazed plants until it died out; that story is probably wrong.
- Pokédex entries blame them for their extinction, like an old idea of slow, clumsy dinosaurs.
- Being unable to breed recalls cross-bred animals, which are often infertile.
