Lifestyle
It spins like a drill and digs at up to 50 km/h, fast enough to race a moving car. Friendly, yet it ruins vegetable crops; it evolves into Excadrill.

In flashbacks, Iris's Drilbur is the Pokémon that would become her Excadrill.
Name origin
The arms suggest shovels, and the claws the teeth of a burr. Drilbur combines drill with burrow or burr.
