Description

« When the trees take on new hues, more of these Pokémon appear. The tone they create by striking their antennae together resembles that of the marimba, an instrument of foreign lands. »

Its story

Appearance

Kricketot is a bipedal bug-like Pokémon, mostly red, with a pale yellow front streak and a black cape marking on its back. Its pale yellow collar is larger on females.

Lifestyle

By rubbing its antennae, it makes a xylophone-like sound to talk with other Kricketot. They gather in greater numbers on autumn nights; it evolves into Kricketune.

In the anime

At the Sinnoh Grand Festival, Nando performs with a Kricketot alongside an Altaria. The pair helps him advance to the Contest Battles.

Name origin

Atsuko Nishida designed it after a cricket and a musician, the body working as a living instrument. Kricketot may combine cricket with tot, a toddler, or totter.
