When hunting, it stabs prey until it cannot move. Brave, it serves Bisharp and evolves into it, then Kingambit.
In the anime
With Georgia, it loses to Ash's Snivy at the Club Battle, then evolves into Bisharp.
Name origin
Pawniard blends pawn and poniard, a light dagger. It suggests a bandit, ashigaru, a samurai, kaijin, and a chess pawn.
