Lifestyle
It seems sluggish, yet anger makes it fast and quick to strike. It drives other Pokémon from their nests with an unblinking glare, in towns and thick forests, and evolves from Glameow.
In the anime
Mamie's Purugly evolves from a Glameow hurt by James's Carnivine. Meowth, once smitten, loses interest when evolution suddenly changes its personality.
Name origin
Its look suggests an overweight tabby, a stereotype of an ugly woman, and the nekomata. Purugly may blend purr and ugly, and play on pure ugly.
