Its story

Appearance

Rookidee is a small bird, dark blue above with a yellow chest and belly. A black feather plume gives it a mask-like look, and its red eyes intimidate fearful Pokémon.

Lifestyle

Feisty, it fights anyone and grows a bit stronger after every battle, even a loss. It evolves into Corvisquire, then Corviknight, and preys on Grubbin.

In the anime

Three Rookidee appear by a nest guarded by two Corviknight. One has an injured wing, and Leon puts a bandage around it.

Name origin

Hitoshi Ariga designed it after tits, especially the Eurasian blue tit. Rookidee blends rook, rookie, kid, and chickadee.

Did you know?

Females are fussier than males and relentlessly attack anyone who dirties their wings.
It jumps nimbly from place to place, confusing Pokémon larger than itself.
Its Shiny coloration may recall the Cinereous tit.
