Its story

Appearance

Stunfisk is flat and mud-brown, with thick gray lips and small oval eyes. A yellow exclamation mark sits at the base of its yellow tail.

Lifestyle

It lives in coastal mud, buries itself, and zaps whatever touches it. Its tough skin can take a sumo wrestler's step. If it cannot paralyze a foe, it contorts and flops away.

In the anime

Called by Palpitoad, it drove Ash and his friends from a lake. Cilan fished it out right after. Goh later caught the Galarian form.

Name origin

Stunfisk combines stun, fish, and disk, after its flat shape. It is based on a flounder and may also draw from the electric ray.

Did you know?

It smiles while electrocuting foes, for a reason still unknown.
