A small, light-yellow, egg-shaped Pokémon that remains inside its white shell. Mostly unfilled rounds edged in red or blue dot the shell. Short arms, two-toed feet, and five spikes like a crown stick out.

Its story
Lifestyle
It draws happiness from others, stores it in its shell, and shares it. Wingless, it flies or levitates; forest-dwelling, born in the Togepi Paradise, it spreads kindness and evolves into Togetic, then Togekiss.
In the anime
Ash finds the Egg; after hatching, Togepi imprints on Misty. As a Togetic, it guards the paradise in the Mirage Kingdom.
Name origin
It suggests a newborn hatchling. Togepi may come from toge, a spike or splinter, and piyopiyo, a chirp.

- It pulls inside its shell to sleep and sometimes rolls there.
- Its innocent smile is said to calm the soul. A sleeping Togepi made to stand brings luck.
- At Spaceworld '97, as Togepī, its shell was far more yellow.
