A mostly yellow bipedal mammal with a kite-shaped face and usually closed eyes. Black skin shows between the joints; brown pieces cover the shoulders and chest, and the thick tail has a brown band.

Lifestyle
A telepathic radar warns it of danger, so it teleports to safety. Its powers force it to sleep eighteen hours a day. It lives in towns and evolves into Kadabra, then Alakazam.

Sabrina, Gym Leader of Saffron City, has an Abra that becomes Kadabra during her Gym battle with Ash.
Name origin
Abra is the start of abracadabra, a stage-magic spell. Its look suggests a psychic and the fox, an animal tied to magic in myth.
