Aegislash has the body of a golden sword, with a purple eye in the blade. Two cloth-like arms rise from the hilt, and it always carries an ornate golden shield.

Lifestyle
Its spectral power can manipulate people and Pokémon alike. In Shield Forme it lessens blows; in Blade Forme its blade cuts through anything. It evolves from Doublade.
In the anime
On screen it is Argus Steel’s main Pokémon, often used for transportation. In the series, Sawyer uses it at the Lumiose Conference against Tierno and Ash.
Name origin
Designed by Hitoshi Ariga, it suggests a possessed sword and shield that recognize a king. Aegislash may blend Aegis, Zeus’s shield, and slash.
