Appearance
Aurorus is a blue, sauropod-like quadruped. Two large sails run down its neck, a V-shaped mark and crystal sit on its head, and small crystals line its sides.

Its story
Lifestyle
Usually quiet and kind, it raises ice walls when enraged. Its crystals give off air as cold as −150 °C. It evolves from Amaura only at night.
In the anime
Diantha's Aurorus loses to Lance's Dragonite in the Masters Eight Tournament, despite the type advantage.
Name origin
Hitoshi Ariga designed it, with Amaura, to pair with Tyrantrum's line. Its name may combine aurora and Amargasaurus.
Did you know?
- It is said that when Aurorus howls, several auroras appear in the sky.
- One was found frozen in a glacier, looking as it did long ago.
- In the series, it is brought back to life with Amaura after being found in ice.
