Appearance
Azurill is a round blue mouse with pink ear insides and two white dots on its cheeks. Its thin black zigzag tail ends in a large blue ball.

Its story
Lifestyle
The ball holds nutrients, works as a float, and thrown like a lasso can carry it 10 meters. It lives by the water and evolves into Marill, then Azumarill.
In the anime
Misty carries one in her arms, as she once carried Togepi. At Normajean's, a young Azurill poisoned by a Tentacruel is healed with Brock's Chansey.
Name origin
The name Azurill may blend azure with rill, a small brook. It looks like a mouse joined to a beach ball or a lifebuoy.
Did you know?
- Normally docile, it swings its ball when angry at larger foes.
- Storing reserves in the tail recalls the fat-tailed dunnart.
- Outside the Water type at first, it may not really swim alone yet.
