Its story

Appearance

Beautifly is a black butterfly with large wings marked orange-yellow, red, and blue. The female’s red spots are smaller than the male’s.

Lifestyle

It evolves from Silcoon. Aggressive, it sucks nectar and prey fluids with its proboscis, prefers forests, and competes with Combee for nectar.

In the anime

May’s Beautifly, evolved from her Silcoon, joins many Hoenn contests, then stays at the Petalburg Gym.

Name origin

Beautifly may combine beauty and butterfly. It seems based on a swallowtail, while the orange-yellow and black suggest the monarch.
