Lifestyle
Its hard shell repels attacks. Dew and rain feed it. In forests it barely moves: energy saved as a Wurmple prepares Beautifly.
In the anime
May's Wurmple becomes Silcoon as Jessie's becomes Cascoon, then Beautifly when the other becomes Dustox. Ash and Goh watch several evolve.
Name origin
Its white silk suggests a silkworm cocoon. Silcoon may combine “silk” and “cocoon.”

- The cocoon blocks its limbs, so it only creeps very slowly.
- Its eyes stay watchful and look out for danger.
