Appearance
Bellsprout has a long, thin, very flexible brown stem, with one green leaf on each side. Its yellow bell-shaped head has pink lips and small black eyes.

Its story
Lifestyle
It spits corrosive acid and darts at prey by twisting its stem. It walks on its roots, but cannot flee once rooted, and it evolves into Weepinbell, then Victreebel.
In the anime
At the Indigo Plateau, Jeanette Fisher's Bellsprout beat Ash's Bulbasaur and Pikachu, then lost to Muk.
Name origin
Atsuko Nishida designed it after carnivorous pitcher plants, especially Nepenthes, and bellflowers. Bellsprout blends bell and sprout.
