Its story

Appearance

Cleffa is a small pink Pokémon with a vaguely star-shaped outline. It has brown ears, rosy cheeks, stubby limbs, a forehead curl, and a curled tail.

Lifestyle

Cleffa lives in the mountains, often near meteorites. On nights of shooting stars, it dances until morning, a dance said to bring good luck. It evolves into Clefairy, then Clefable.

In the anime

A Cleffa falls from a spaceship. Ash must return it to its group before Team Rocket and the Pokémon Mystery Club. It evolves at the end.

Name origin

Cleffa suggests fairies, pixies, and life from beyond, with its star-shaped body. Cleffa may blend clef with fairy or fable; fa may come from the solfa scale.
