Its story
Lifestyle
It lives among rocks and avoids others out of grief. At night it weeps for its mother and fights with a bone; once that grief is accepted, it evolves into Marowak.
In the anime
Goh helped a Cubone recover its stolen bone, then caught it. Alvin's Cubone defeated Magneton and Heliolisk against Clembot.
Name origin
Cubone joins cub and bone. Ken Sugimori started from how sad a Pokémon's death would be, with a dinosaur look and bones used as weapons.
Did you know?
- Its cries draw Mandibuzz, which decorates its nest with the bones.
- It also cries in its sleep, and those tears make it stronger.
- It once lived in Lavender Town's Pokémon Tower, where one mother appears as a ghost.
