Its story
Lifestyle
Timid, it curls into a ball at danger, and its fire burns harder when angry but fails when tired. It evolves into Quilava, then Typhlosion.
In the anime
Ash catches one in Johto. It struggles at first to light its flames, then evolves into Quilava against a Team Rocket machine.
Name origin
Cyndaquil blends cinder and quill. It mixes echidna and tenrec traits and echoes the Hinezumi, a Chinese fire mouse of volcanoes.
