Lifestyle
Before a battle it turns its back, mixing flames with superheated air, and its fur does not burn. It evolves from Cyndaquil into Typhlosion.
In the anime
Ash's Cyndaquil becomes Quilava against a Team Rocket mecha, then ties with Nando's Armaldo.
Name origin
Quilava blends quill and lava. Its body recalls the Cuniculidae and the quills of a crested porcupine.
