Lifestyle
Usually calm, it can rage and roll hard enough to knock down a house. It lives in rough mountains in herds ranked by tusk size, and it evolves from Phanpy.
In the anime
Ash's Donphan was born when his Phanpy evolved and proved an excellent teammate. On Donto Island, Ash helps a male mate with a Shiny Donphan.
Name origin
It suggests a small armored elephant, with back ridges like heavy-machinery treads. The name may blend don, meaning sir, or the suffix -don, with elephant.
