It lives on rocky ground, digs its nest by a river, and will not settle until it is clean. It evolves into Donphan.
In the anime
Ash's Phanpy hatches from an Egg, then evolves into Donphan. In a film, Molly's illusory Phanpy beats Brock's Onix with one Rollout.
Name origin
Its bright colors resemble a children's toy, and the red pads echo elephant adornments in India. Phanpy may come from elephant and infant.
