Its story

Appearance

Drednaw is a large four-legged Pokémon like a turtle, with a rocky brown shell in three parts and a yellow rim. Its boxy head has a yellow horn, and its long tail bears two spikes.

Lifestyle

It evolves from Chewtle and lurks on shores, biting prey that come to drink. Its fangs chew rock and steel, and strong muscles let it move fast under its heavy shell.

In the anime

Team Rocket tried to catch a Drednaw for Giovanni near Wyndon Stadium, but it Gigantamaxed and attacked the stadium. Ash and Goh stopped it only after Pikachu Gigantamaxed too.

Name origin

Drednaw is based on the common snapping turtle, with some alligator snapping turtle traits. Its Gigantamax form resembles a dreadnought, and the name blends dread, gnaw, and dreadnought.
