Its story

Appearance

A small bird much like a robin, with a reddish-orange head and a triangular yellow mark behind each eye. Gray body and wings, and a long black tail in two points, like an arrow.

Lifestyle

It is very friendly, and its beautiful songs are really warnings. Usually peaceful, it is relentless in battle. It lives in the countryside and in cities, and evolves into Fletchinder, then Talonflame.

In the anime

Ash's Fletchling steals a Berry meant for a wild Dedenne, then Ash catches it with Froakie. It later evolves into Fletchinder, then Talonflame.

Name origin

Designed by Saya Tsuruta, it is based on a Japanese robin and, through its tail, an arrow. Fletchling may blend fletching, the feathers of an arrow, with fledgling.
