Lifestyle
Faster in water than the most athletic humans, even in rough seas, it sometimes rescues shipwrecked people. Its gem glows when it uses its psychic powers; it evolves from Psyduck.

On screen, Misty thinks her Psyduck has evolved: the Golduck is wild and shows off toward girls, much as Brock does.
Name origin
The Pokédex presents it as inspired by the kappa: a beak, webbed hands, and people dragged into the water. Golduck joins gold, often tied to psychic power, and duck.
