Lifestyle
Short-tempered, it shakes and rampages until it sleeps, then wakes even angrier. In mountain treetop colonies, it evolves into Primeape, then Annihilape.
In the anime
A wild Mankey steals Ash's hat, evolves into Primeape, and Ash catches it right away.
Name origin
Mankey blends man, or mad, with monkey. Its snout and shaggy coat suggest the pig-tailed macaque; its tail and temper recall baboons.
