On a new moon it wanders singing, and anyone who hears it is cursed. It evolves from Pumpkaboo and hunts according to its size.
In the anime
Jessie's Super Size Pumpkaboo became a Gourgeist. It stayed at Team Rocket HQ, then rejoined her later.
Name origin
The name Gourgeist may blend gourd and geist. It evokes Halloween pumpkins, the candle in a lantern, and dripping wax.
