Its story

Appearance

Grubbin is a small insect with a white body, three simple nubs on each side, and two yellow spots. Its huge yellow mandibles have reddish-orange tips, and its brown head has large black eyes.

Lifestyle

It lives underground near power plants, where its jaws dig, drink sap and snap thick branches, while sticky threads let it swing or stop foes, before it evolves into Charjabug, then Vikavolt.

In the anime

Ash chased a wild Grubbin underground and lost it. Later, Pikachu battled another: it fled the Poké Ball, popped back up, and scared Lillie.

Name origin

Grubbin comes from grub and grubbing, with a possible play on plug in. It resembles a beetle larva and a two-pronged electrical plug.
