Its story

Appearance

Hatterene is a small humanoid with a thin white body hidden by extremely long hair like a cloak and a witch's hat, plus a pink dress. A clawed tentacle extends from the hat's tip.

Lifestyle

Reclusive, it lives alone in forests and is called the Forest Witch. Its powers cause headaches; loud noise makes it tear perpetrators apart. It evolves from Hattrem.

In the anime

A Hatterene tricked heartbroken Brock and tried to keep him in a forest. Ash, Misty, and Cilan stopped her when one attack injured a Hatenna.

Name origin

Hatterene may combine hatter and serene. It resembles a hag or wood witch, such as Baba Yaga, and a noblewoman's hennin atop a witch's hat.
