Gentle but immensely strong, it lives in forests, loves sap, and throws rivals with its horn. It can Mega Evolve into a bulkier, wingless form.

In A Sappy Ending, a Heracross helps Ash settle a feud with Pinsir, then chooses to be caught.
Name origin
It is based on the Japanese rhinoceros beetle, known for its strength. Heracross blends Hercules beetle with cross, for the horn.
