Lifestyle
Its thick coat makes claws and fangs bounce off. Loyal, it helps its Trainer raise other Pokémon, will not obey anyone who disrespects it, and evolves from Lillipup into Stoutland.

Lenora's Herdier battles Ash and his Tepig in a Gym match and is defeated. Cheren's Herdier beats Ash's Oshawott in an unofficial battle.
Name origin
The name Herdier may blend herding dog with terrier. It is based on a Yorkshire Terrier, with traits of Scottish Terriers and Australian Silky Terriers.
