Lifestyle
It cries at the same time every day thanks to an organ that senses the world's rotation. Nocturnal, it nests in forest trees, preys on Grubbin, and evolves into Noctowl.

In Falkner's Gym battle against Ash, his Hoothoot easily defeated Chikorita, then lost to Pikachu.
Name origin
Hoothoot blends a young horned owl with a clock: a round body, gear-like eyes, and a crest like clock hands. Its name comes from hoot, and perhaps cuckoo clock.
