Its story
Lifestyle
A scientist built it about five hundred years ago. The Soul-Heart in its chest gathers other Pokémon's life energy. When sad, it curls up like a Poké Ball.
In the anime
In the film, Alva kidnaps her and Volcanion sets out to save her. In the series, an inactive Shiny Magearna is at Lillie's mansion, a gift Mohn planned.
Name origin
It suggests a nursemaid: a gear headdress, a maid's gown, and moon-rabbit ears. Its name joins Latin machina, “machine,” mana, and gear.

- Without the Soul-Heart it stays conscious and still, with dull gray eyes.
- The tips of its arms can open into a cannon or a flower bouquet.
