Its antennae sense currents. Friendly, it swims with schools of Remoraid and evolves into Mantine beside them.
In the anime
Goh catches one in Snowpoint City, and Mantyke later helps Pikachu in the iceberg race.
Name origin
Mantyke is based on a baby manta ray with a smiling back. The name may blend manta and tyke, a word for a small child.
