Two Beldum fuse into Metang, doubling its psychic power without making it smarter. It hovers over harsh mountains, hunts Nosepass, and evolves into Metagross.
In the anime
Morrison's Beldum evolved into Metang at the Ever Grande Conference. Alain's Metang later beat Ash's Noivern, then evolved into Metagross.
Name origin
Metang joins two Beldum and suggests a flying saucer and a crab. Its name blends metal and tang, a metallic sound, and is an anagram of magnet.
