Appearance
Misdreavus is a dark bluish-green ghost with no arms or legs. Its lower half looks like a ruffled dress. Five red gems circle its neck, and lilac-tipped hair frames its red eyes.

It lives in caves. Nocturnal, it sleeps by day and at night pulls hair or shrieks like a child to frighten people. Its hair can grasp like hands. It evolves into Mismagius.
In the anime
Little Miss, Marina's Misdreavus, marks the species' debut in the animated series. Zoey's Misdreavus later evolves into Mismagius.
Name origin
Misdreavus may combine mischievous and dream. Its wailing and bodiless head recall the nukekubi and the banshee. Hair pranks and dream-related names point to the zmory.
