It hunts in temperate forests. Its pincers hold prey until they are torn in half, and it can lift twice its weight.

Goh caught a timid Pinsir. Samurai's Pinsir beat Ash's Pidgeotto, then lost to his Metapod.
Name origin
Pinsir corrupts the word pincer, after the horns on its head. Its design is based on a stag beetle with thorn-like mandibles.
