Appearance
Shelgon looks like a pupa covered by six white plates, like bone. Two hexagonal openings show a little gray body and its yellow eyes.

It comes from Bagon. The shell turns aside most attacks, but it is very slow and hides in a cavern without eating, before becoming Salamence.
In the anime
Drake's beats Ash's Pikachu thanks to its shell. Sawyer's loses to Ash's Hawlucha, then becomes Salamence.
Name origin
Shelgon may blend shell and dragon. The design suggests a dragon or a giant tortoise combined with a pupa.
