Appearance
Salamence is a blue quadrupedal dragon with a long tapering tail, a gray lower jaw, and a thickly scaled belly. Flat fins stick out from its head, and large red wings suddenly grew.

Lifestyle
The final form of Bagon after Shelgon, it flies constantly and blasts fierce fire from sheer joy. Enraged, it destroys everything until it collapses from exhaustion. It lives in rough country.

In the movie, Butler's Salamence battled the wild Flygon helping Ash and Max free Jirachi, then joined them when Meta Groudon threatened Forina.
Name origin
It suggests the European dragon and a salamander. Salamence may blend salamander with menace or violence; its Mega form echoes a fighter jet, and its title a blood moon.

- Even asleep from exhaustion, its wings keep fluttering.
