Its story
Lifestyle
Very curious, it runs constantly; its sap-moist lips judge something new. It lives in cities and cold caverns, then evolves into Jynx.
In the anime
In Cremini Town, a lost Smoochum meets Team Rocket, then is saved by three Jynx sisters, Ash, and his friends before evolving.
Name origin
Smoochum comes from smooch, a kiss, and possibly chum, a friend. Kissing to learn is a toddler habit, and the look echoes a child and blonde gyaru.

- In a 1997 demo, Rippu looked like a miniature Jynx wearing a bib.
- It checks its reflection and washes its face at any speck, yet a dirty body is fine.
- It is linked to the child a yuki-onna holds, or to Kintarō raised by the yama-uba.
