Its story

Appearance

A dark gray Ultra Beast of stone creatures stacked into a four-sided tower, with a thin leg on each corner. Each brick has a blue eye that turns red when angry.

Lifestyle

It sleeps by posing as a stone building. It reshapes its bricks into legs, lets attacks through, or traps foes, and its legs can snap a tree.

In the anime

Viren placed his golden statue on Stakataka at a hotel site, sending it berserk. With Kiawe's help, Ash caught it, then released it home.

Name origin

Stakataka resembles a castle tower. It echoes Mokumokuren, a yōkai with many eyes that lives in walls. Its name blends stack and attack.

Did you know?

It is the heaviest Rock-type, and has the highest Defense of any Steel-type besides Mega Evolutions.
Phyco says one Stakataka is nearly 150 bricks, but a full count gives 137.
On its legs it is nearly twice as tall as Guzzlord, yet both list as 5.5 m.
