The rear starfish spins: that is how it swims. Born from Staryu with a stone, it lives in the deepest ocean and sends waves to the far reaches of the universe.
In the anime
Friede caught it at the Mossdeep Space Center while training as an astronaut. This Starmie can Mega Evolve, survives outer space alone, and spins to power up its attacks.
Name origin
It suggests a starfish, a gem set in gold, and the alien from Warning from Space, which takes human form. Starmie blends star and mystery.
