Its story
Lifestyle
It moves by psychic power and regrows a lost appendage if the core stays intact. At night the core glows, and it lines up with the stars. It evolves into Starmie.
In the anime
It is one of Misty's main battle partners. In a short film, one sends Ash and Pikachu flying, and another blasts Hoopa away.
Name origin
Ken Sugimori designed it after a stylized starfish, which can also regrow what it loses. Staryu may combine star and you.
