Its story
Lifestyle
Guardian of Melemele Island, it does not always help those in need. It stores storm electricity in its shells and moves as fast as lightning.
In the anime
It gives Ash a Z-Ring fitted with an Electrium Z. A Shiny one and its counterpart carry Ash and Pikachu to the Ultra Ruin.
Name origin
The whole design resembles a tiki statue and Kūkaʻilimoku, a Hawaiian god of war. The name may join tapu, meaning sacred or forbidden, with kokō, a rooster's crow.
