Appearance
Tympole is a small, round, tadpole-like Pokémon with a tan face, large black eyes, and a downturned mouth. Its black body has no limbs, blue-and-black cheeks, and a long blue fan-shaped tail.

Its story
Lifestyle
By vibrating its cheeks, it makes a sound too high for humans and uses rhythm to talk to its own kind and warn of danger. It evolves into Palpitoad, then Seismitoad.
In the anime
While Ash looks for Remeyo weed, Tympole led by a wild Palpitoad attack his Oshawott underwater. They flee when Oshawott strikes them.
Name origin
The design joins a toad tadpole and a loudspeaker; bumps suggest headphones, warts, or a tympanum. The name may blend tympanum with tadpole. Tympole and Palpitoad were designed backward from Seismitoad.
