It is born with one white tail that splits. An inner flame never goes out, and it hunts with floating wisps, mostly on plains.
In the anime
Brock receives a Vulpix from Suzie, then gives it back. In Alola, Lillie keeps Snowy outside its Poké Ball.
Name origin
Vulpix draws on the kitsune. Its name blends the Latin vulpes, “fox,” with six, for its tails.
