Its story
Lifestyle
Full of water, it becomes a bouncing ball and blasts water from its nostrils; when dry, it turns lethargic. It lives in the sea, eats tons of food a day, and evolves into Wailord.
In the anime
A Wailmer befriends Robin, then evolves into Wailord to carry Robin, Ash, and his friends toward a ship bound for Ever Grande City. Robin later chooses to return to his island.
Name origin
It blends a baleen whale with a beach ball. Wailmer may come from whale and mer, meaning sea; Japanese Hoeruko may join hoeru, to bellow, and ko, child.

- On rare occasions, pods wash ashore, a genetic memory of a time they lived on land.
