Lifestyle
One of the largest Pokémon discovered. Leaping out and crashing down, it makes shockwaves that stun a foe and herd its prey. Easygoing, it lives at sea with Wailmer and evolves from Wailmer.

Stranded near a Pokémon Center, it is targeted by Team Rocket, but a Combusken foils their plan.
Name origin
It is based on the blue whale and suggests a submarine, a blimp, or a torpedo. Wailord combines wail, a long cry, and lord, and may involve whale.
