Appearance
Wurmple is a small red caterpillar with a cream belly and face and large yellow eyes. Sharp yellow stingers sit on its head and rear, and red spines run along its back.

Its story
Lifestyle
It spits sticky silk and poisons foes from its tail spikes. It lives in forests, eats leaves and sap, and becomes Silcoon or Cascoon with no visible hint.
In the anime
May and Jessie each catch one: hers becomes Silcoon then Beautifly, Jessie's Cascoon then Dustox, at the same time. Aaron's returns as a Beautifly.
Name origin
Based on a caterpillar, it fills Caterpie's role in Hoenn to teach Evolution. Wurmple may blend “worm” with “rumple” or “simple.”
