Description

« Having an eye on each palm allows it to keep watch in all directions. In a pinch, its limbs start to act on their own to ensure the enemy’s defeat. »

Its story

Appearance

Barbaracle is made of seven Binacle. The brown head, like a left hand, links two rocks. Four arms end in a hand with an eye in the palm; each sole has a four-pointed star.

Lifestyle

Each limb thinks on its own but usually obeys the head and may strike without orders. Eyes in the palms see every way at once. It evolves from Binacle.

In the anime

Saizo sends it against Ash's Froakie and Sanpei's Greninja to stop Sanpei. Later it defeats Heidayu's Bisharp.

Name origin

The goose barnacle inspires its shape clinging to rock. Barbaracle may blend barbaric and barnacle.

Did you know?

Mega Barbaracle has eleven Binacle and punches very fast, then fires a yellow or red beam.
Its many arms may recall the Hecatoncheires, the Gegeenes, or the Asuras.
The Mega head suggests the sign of the horns; the nickname rock on puns on the Rock type.
